Ok, 4th trip here. Food fine but the crew at the bar, extremely loud. Questionable if there will be a 5th trip here. They need to tame the guests at the bar. My last review was similar but tonight they are wildly off the chain.

Love this neighborhood gem. The service can be hit or miss, but everyone is always friendly and the food is excellent if you order right-- go for the pork chop bitsy and anything a la barge (I'm partial to the veal). Don't forget to bring cash!

Amazing service, delicious food, great drinks! The stuffed rig was so good and an absolute must have. The veal franchise was one of the best I've had - amazing flavor! The pasta fagioli soup was soooo good. No drink menu, but they have a full bar and make great cocktails. I had a very good espresso martini! I'd absolutely go back!

I'm never disappointed coming to Barge Inn for dinner. My boyfriend and I have come on multiple occasions and I'm always satisfied with the service and food. My favorite dish, which I always tend to get, is the Veal Milanese! It's such a nice intimate spot perfect for dates or small gatherings. It feels like dining in someone's home with delicious food and the price is right too!

Authentic Italian food. Clams oreganata, artichoke francaise, any of the pastas, Chicken parm, sole francaise. It's excellent food. Home style vibe very neighborhood friendly. When you walk into the restaurant you don't feel like you're in the gentrified part of Jersey City. Kind of feels like you go back in time. If you drink wine bring a healthy appetite because they have heavy pours. I don't drink anymore so next time I go I'll skip the wine and just enjoy their cozy and delicious food options. Service is impeccable and friendly.

This charming establishment exudes a sense of nostalgia, embodying the essence of a traditional, time-honored, family-operated Italian eatery in Jersey City. Steeped in local history, its allure is undeniable. The culinary offerings are nothing short of remarkable, showcasing authentic Jersey Italian fare that remains true to its roots. From delectable spaghetti dishes to mouthwatering Milanese chops, the menu boasts a range of dishes that captivate the palate. Notably, the liberal use of Parmesan adds a rich and indulgent touch. Service is both efficient and amiable, with the affable staff instilling a genuine sense of belonging and fostering a desire to revisit. The warm hospitality of the ladies truly creates an atmosphere reminiscent of home. Immersing oneself in the ambiance of this venerable establishment is a delight in itself. With its weathered, family-style setting steeped in Italian tradition, the venue seamlessly blends culinary excellence with the conviviality of a bar. It is with utmost enthusiasm that I recommend this establishment, as it epitomizes the essence of an exceptional Jersey Italian dining experience.

God I love this place. I'll add it as a tip but you MUST order the chicken parm and substitute vodka sauce. It is incredible (see photo below). It came with ziti pasta and a salad. We also ordered the fried artichoke hearts special. Good GOD that shit is amazing. It comes in a Française sauce. The place is small and gives serious Sopranos vibes. I love it. There's a few round tables (maybe 10-12?) and a small bar with some stools. The place itself is on a corner and looks like a tiny brick house. Service is great. Everyone is kind. We came for dinner for a friends birthday and everything went smooth. It was honestly a really nice dinner and the food was incredible. I ordered a to go a few months ago and had the same experience - very positive, nice service, great food. Definitely a spot I'd bring my parents if they ever decided to visit.
